Cosmology of Consciousness: Quantum Physics & Neuroscience of Mind

An apparent recognition by those seeking a Theory of Everything of the possibility that that which causes the coming into being and continued existence of the physical universe (or at least the apparency of the coming into being and apparent continuation of the physical universe) is unlikely itself to be of the physical universe. Will we now progress to an understanding of the relationship between that which is cause of the physical universe, the physical universe itself and that which is conscious of the physical universe (the latter of which usually occurs in the shape of life forms within the physical universe of which humans seem to be the most advanced form (at least that we are so far aware of) in the sense of appearing to have the greatest understanding of the way the physical universe works - at least as measured by their ability to manipulate and exploit it from making tools to mining it's resources)? In short are cause of the physical universe and consciousness of the physical universe related and at the same time are both outside of matter, energy, space and (most enigmatically of all) time and yet able to be the cause of or having an awareness of these physical universe attributes and the ability to operate within them?!!
