Interesting and captivating up until the end, which is slightly anticlimactic….. but an easy read nonetheless.

The best so far for me as a new reader of Sally Hepworth’s books. Better than The Good Sister, which was also enjoyable. Sally has a tendency to have the male hero or partner of the lead female characters always be successful / wealthy (or they turn out to be, like in The Good Sister, where the man who she thinks is homeless living out of his van turns out to be a successful serial entrepreneur, yeah right). This reinforces the notion that a good man is both kind and wealthy if he is a good catch. I find that part a little triggering.
Anyway, really enjoying her work overall and found this book one I’d recommend widely. A must read for sure. Kept me up many nights determined to finish it.

I was obsessed with The Good Sister by the same author and while this book shares the same family dynamic issues and air of mystery, it left me disappointed. I think once the truth became obvious to me (much earlier than it was confirmed in the book), the plot became a bit predictable and boring unfortunately!

Really got into this story and enjoyed the read…. Until the ending! Just felt there were too many loose ends and it wasn’t clear enough - this was a little disappointing.

Thank you Sally for another excellent book, I love reading Sally’s books, they are very hard to put down. She is such a talented writer.

Loved this book right up to the ending! Great characters and great writing. However, the ending was a so disappointing I have to mark it 3 stars. I found the ending a real anti climax unfortunately. If the ending had been more satisfactory (or even just clearer!) it would have been a 5 star book.
